The playoff beard. It is a timeless hockey tradition that has lasted through the generations. It is a piece of hockey lore and it will be around until the game ceases to exist.
It is hockey. The playoff beard may in fact be the finest tradition in all of sports.
But you cannot really have a playoff beard without one important ingredient…the mustache. This fantastic piece of facial hair is essential to the beard, but it is often underutilized by itself.
So with that, I would like to introduce my All-Stache Team…
Mustache or no, Chico always has a place in my net

You will not find a better Fu Manchu on the blue line than Larry Robinson

Made an executive decision here. There was no question Ricky was going to make the squad. But based soley on the amount of facial hair from the top lip up, Ricky H starts on D and wears the A

Derek Sanderson has the stache, the skills and the experience to make sure everyone knows where the party is after the game

You’d have to look long and hard to find a tougher stache than Wendel Clark

The Godfather. No question that Lanny Mac is the Captain of this squad

The man behind the bench is none other than Grapes himself

Charlie Simmer is named first alternate to the team. Slick stache and cool dude

Now since we are honoring the Mustache, I thought that it was necessary to name an Honorary Captain to this tremendous team to help garner some PR. I lost a little sleep over this decision. I tried to grow a mustache myself (to no avail) to help channel an answer. And here is what I came up with…
I introduce you to the TWO Honorary Captains of the All-Stache Team…in no particular order…
The Bandit…

and Magnum
