Unlike any sport that I have experienced, it grabs a hold of you and doesn’t let go. I don’t know exactly what it is, but after spending the majority of my life being involved in this game, I just cannot get enough of it. This game is so much more than what happens on the ice. It is the tradition of the men that created this game. It is the Dad who sacrifices every free minute of his time so you can play. It is the Mom who works 10 hour days and still gets you to practice on time. It is the Coach that selflessly teaches you because someone did it for him. It is the friendships that are created through sacrifice. It is the memories that never leave you. It is the lifestyle that this game breeds…
The lifestyle of hockey is unlike any that another sport can provide. The history is rich. The style is unique. The language its own. And the rewards are priceless. Hockey truly has provided me a lifestyle. This game has given me:
-A lifetime of excitement on the ice…
-An opportunity to travel the country and develop lifelong friendships along the way…
-A front office career that has lasted 12 years in professional hockey…
-And most importantly this game has given me my family. Without this game I would not have my loving wife and my two wonderful sons.
I owe this game more than I can imagine.
